Sixth Form Enrichment: Mandarin - Asset for Languages

This is a one year course for beginners and no previous knowledge of Mandarin is necessary. There will be the opportunity for those students who start in Year 12 to continue studying the language in Year 13. The school offers the OCR accredited Asset for Languages Certificate and we currently offer this qualification at Breakthrough and Preliminary Level. Lessons are one double per week and it is taught by a qualified full-time Mandarin teacher. The approach is communicative with an emphasis on speaking and listening. Students will also be able to read and write basic Chinese characters which will allow them to sit the Asset for Languages examination in Listening, Reading and Speaking.
