Language College : German Exchange Each year a group of girls from Years 9 and 10 takes part in an exchange with girls from the Annette-von-Droste-Hülshoff-Gymnasium in Münster, Germany.   The German girls usually come to London in the second half of September and the Grey Coat girls travel to Münster in February. During their time away from home the girls are able to experience life in a different family and school and also to take part in outings. As many of the students are staying with a host family for the first time the group is always accompanied by teachers who usually stay at the homes of colleagues from the other school. The girls are encouraged to correspond before and after the exchange and nowadays many contact each other by e-mail. The exchange provides a good opportunity to use the German learnt at school in a practical way, but it can also result in lifelong friendships.
