International May Fair 2008
Another successful day despite the rain!
This is an annual event held at Grey Coat Hospital where each class chooses a country from around the world to research and promote. They then hold a stall selling food and arts and crafts from the country. Each form researches the history and religion of their chosen country, learn some of the language, wear traditional dress and perform a traditional dance. We believe that this both promotes and encourages respect for different cultures and helps form classes to bond whilst also being a fun day out.

The winners this year were:
Best Arts and Crafts - 7G Malaysia
Best Food – 9R Trinidad and Tobago
Best Culture and Language – 7H Azerbaijan
Best Traditional Dress – 9G Brazil
Best Year 7 Dance – 7R Philippines
Best Year 8 Dance – 8C USA
Best Year 9 Dance – 9Y India
Most Green Stall – 9T China
Most money raised – 7G Malaysia
Overall Winners – 8Y Hawaii.
The overall prize this year is a day trip to Parc Asterix in France!
Well done to all the girls, including the Year 10s who produced a fantastic stall on International Trade.
Thank you to all those who were involved and helped make it such a good day. Check out the pictures above and below...
