Royal Society of British Artists select Artwork by GCH Sixth Form Student for its Annual Exhibition...
Art work by a Grey Coat Sixth Form student has been selected by The Royal Society of British Artists to be part of their Annual Student’s Exhibition.
‘The Mirror’, a self portrait by 17 year old Clare Harding, will exhibit in London at the Mall Galleries in SW1 until Sunday 25th May 2008. The exhibition runs at the same time as the 291st Royal Society of British Artists Annual Exhibition and is at the same venue.

Explaining her self portrait, Clare said: “I have explored differing viewpoints using my reflection in a mirror. I am interested in appearance and reality in an image. What is reflection? What is reality? At what point does it become an image? Is the image reality? I was also thinking of how people react to their own image in the mirror, whether they like what they see, and the fact that their image disappears when they walk away. I have represented the transience of a reflection by making it fall through the mirror”.
The works of Dina Akhmadeeva and Valentina Billios of the same school were also highly commended by the judges. |
