GCSE RESULTS: A GRADE IN ENGLISH, SCIENCE AND PRODUCT DESIGN

Tuesday 24th August 2010, 2.30pm

The examination board, OCR, has announced today that it has made an error in the results sent to school yesterday concerning A and A* grades.  The Board did not award any A* grades initially, but has now sent the correct grades to school.  Students who received an A grade in English, Science and/or Product Design on their result sheet today can email Mr McCoy (ned_mccoy@yahoo.com) if they would like to check before the correct information is sent in the post next week.

BUILDING SCHOOLS FOR THE FUTURE – SCHOOL & ICT CLOSURE

Over the summer The Grey Coat Hospital will be subject to various works under the Building Schools for the Future programme. It is necessary for the school buildings to be closed at certain times, and also for the ICT to be shut down for a period whilst a transition from our old systems onto the new ICT systems takes place.

Please note that school email and telephone systems will be taken out of action for the whole of the summer holidays until the start of term in September and any communication via these will not reach us.

We will not receive any emails or telephone messages at all and you should assume that any communication to the school made between 6 August and 6 September will not reach us.

Information regarding exam results collection and start of term information for all students can be found below this message. Admissions information and details of open events taking place this Autumn  can be found here in the admissions section.

Letter from the Head

I am proud to lead a dedicated and talented team of professionals offering a challenging educational experience for girls from 11 to 18, and for boys in the Sixth Form.

We are a Church of England school with a strong pastoral structure, ensuring that every student is known as a person and is set on the path to realising his or her potential within the context of a caring Christian community.

We believe that languages are the key to the future, and that proficiency in a foreign language will open doors for students of every discipline. This is the reason we have chosen to specialise in languages. For our second specialism we elected to become a Training School with the focus on professional development for all our staff to ensure the very highest standards in everything we do.

Life at Grey Coat is demanding but very rewarding. I hope the website gives you a flavour of life within our school and community.

Rachel Allard
Head Teacher
