Gym and Dance
November 2009
On Tuesday 24th November over 150 pupils in Year 7 – 11 performed in the annual Gym and Dance display.
The two performances were a culmination of two months of hard work creating, auditioning and practising their pieces.
For many of the pupils this was their first time performing in front of a large audience and here is what two pupils in 7R thought of the event:
“The Gym and Dance display was fantastic. There were so many different kinds of dances and gymnastic routines that it kept you entertained throughout. All the performers gave 110% effort and energy in their dance and everyone seemed to recognise this in their applause. The crowd went crazy for everyone and Ms Young was particularly energetic when the finale was being performed! The Gym and Dance display is something that everyone looks forward to and all the acts were amazing.” Seren Williams 7R
“The gymnastics in the Gym and Dance display were very interesting as all of the gymnasts weren’t just good, they were brilliant! They did routines on the beam, on the floor and also on the trampette and spring board. It was great and intense to watch as they demonstrated their skills. The dancing was also just as spectacular with many types of dance being included in the display, such as ballet, contemporary, Indian, bollywood and street dance. The audience also went wild for the tap dancers – Harriet Harvey in 9G and Harley-Mae Charles in 7G.” Alice McLeod-Bishop 7R
