Video Conference on Climate Change with schools in Brazil
23rd March 2007
On Friday 23rd March, year 11 students from Miss Grainger’s Science group went to the British Council offices on The Mall to take part in a video conference with two schools in Brazil. This was part of an on-going project on Climate Change and gave the students a chance to discuss ideas about climate change in the three cities taking part: London, Recife and Sao Paulo. Also present were Justin Dillon, Senior Lecturer in Science and Environmental Education at King’s College, and Roberta Kacowicz from the British Council office in Brazil. The video conference was a huge success, and the students involved are all looking forward to making more of this new link with Brazil. In July two students from Brazil will be visiting London to take part in an international Climate Change conference at the Natural History museum, and we hope to be able to meet with the students during their stay in London. The video conference was also filmed by the BBC and featured on the BBC Brazil news and website.
