Music International Performance 2008
In February students from The Grey Coat Hospital joined forces with students from Westminster City School to create and perform a musical international project. Fifty students from Year 9 were selected from a whole year group opera experience workshop. These selected students then wrote, composed and rehearsed the project in one week. Their final performance was on Monday 11 February 2008.
The aim of the project was to increase awareness of the international community represented within both schools and in the Westminster wider community. The theme given to them was 'Worldly Wisdom' which links in with the school theme of ‘Wisdom’ at The Grey Coat Hospital. The students considered where we can find wisdom in the world, regardless of race, religion or creed. Working with internationally acclaimed opera singers, film makers and musicians from Tinderbox Artists and Three Blue Legs Films, the students produced an outstanding performance of drama and music entitled ‘One Wise World’.
The project was a great success and the students should be very proud of themselves.
