Sarafina!

In the final week of term before Christmas, Grey Coat staged wonderful performances of Sarafina!, a South African play by Mbongeni Ngemay that tells the story of a young girl and her schoolmates' involvement in the student protests and riots during the anti-apartheid struggle in Soweto. Performed by a large cast of students from Years 10-13, the play was a powerful mingling of message, music and dance. Live music, vibrant singing and energetic performances entertained and moved the audience.
