Westminster Work Experience Awards8th February 2007
On Thursday 8th February the school was invited to the first ever Westminster Celebration of Work Experience, along with other Westminster secondary schools and a large number of the employers who participate in the schools work experience programme.
The event was held in the B.U.G. house in London Zoo, and this added to the evening’s excitement as we walked through the snow to the Zoo. All the secondary schools had been asked to nominate a student and an employer for an award. The employer who received the award for outstanding commitment to Grey Coat was Andrew Hill from Nat West Bank at Goldsmiths’ College and the student nominated was Danielle Kempson 11R. Her work placement last year was at the Spitalfields Trust, a day care centre for alcoholics, the homeless and those suffering from drug dependency.
Many congratulations to Danielle who did Grey Coat proud. All nominees had been asked to deliver a brief speech about their placement but Danielle was the only student to do so, delivering an amazing account of her work experience placement. Her certificate was well deserved.
