At The Grey Coat Hospital we request that our parents and carers make a voluntary contribution to help fund activities which are not covered by our school budget. This fund is known as The Grey Coat Gift.
By donating to The Grey Coat Gift you ensure that every one of our young students can have richer and broader life-changing educational experiences than our basic grant provides. Your donations mean that all students have access to:
-
Subsidised or free inspiring music lessons
-
Our adventurous and developmental Duke of Edinburgh award programme
-
Mental health and well-being services
-
Cultural visits, competitive sports events and extra-curricular clubs
-
Celebratory events, theme day workshops, activities and out-of-school visits
In recent years, contributions from parents and donors have supported these activities for all our students, as well as helping with the successful completion of building projects, including a new Sixth Form room and student dining space, and providing Microsoft surface computers to all teachers.
Our 2024-2025 target: £200,000.
To help us continue delivering activities and resources like this for all of our students, we would be delighted if you would donate to The Grey Coat Gift. Our preferred form of payment is a regular monthly donation. To donate please click on the button below or use our QR code.

Donating to The Grey Coat Gift
Donating to The Grey Coat Gift is easy and there are a variety of ways to give, including a monthly, quarterly or annual standing order from your bank account.
We prefer to receive a regular monthly donation from our parents and carers as this enables the school to plan a programme of activity for our students over the whole year.
How much should I donate?
Most of our parents donate through a regular standing order payment. Parents typically give between £10 and £100 per month, with donations most commonly being in multiples of £20, £30 or £50 per month, per student. We also have some very generous parents who donate much higher sums either annually or monthly.
We are grateful for all donations we receive, no matter how small or large they are. We also appreciate that not everybody is able to donate. All of our students benefit from The Grey Coat Gift, regardless of who does or does not donate.
Donate with Gift Aid
Please add Gift Aid to your donation if you are a UK taxpayer. This will enable the school to claim 25p for every £1 donated.
