Each year group has a charity week during the year and they choose a different charity each to support and raise awareness for. The students plan a range of fundraising activities and awareness campaigns, led by their form Charity Rep. Charity Weeks creates a positive fun feeling of giving and service. Whilst Charities Week are student led the staff are an integral part of charity week as pupils enjoy staff participation.  Events include; The Voice (staff singing), Beep test (Staff competing), Football/netball match- staff against pupils; Catch phrase competitions.

In establishing Year group charities, Heads of Year draw up a focus for each year groups such as: 

• Y7 Children 
• Y8 Health 
• Y9 Environment 
• Y10 Women 
• Y11 Local 
• Sixth Form Global including Amnesty International 

The school participates annually in World Vision Sponsor a Child.  Every form from Year 7-13 has adopted a child in a developing country. When year 11 leave, the new Y7 cohort take over the responsibility. Staff have also adopted a child.  Each year we participate in a range of other charitable events. For example: the Samaritan’s purse shoebox appeal for Christmas where hundreds of pupils bring in a shoebox with Christmas presents for other children; Christmas Jumper Day for charity; Jeans for Genes day; the Poppy appeal; Red Card Against Racism to name but a few. The school community also respond to events within each year. For example, a number of year groups arranged fundraising in response to the conflict in the Ukraine.
